Chester at Dabba – Friday, June 27th – 10am to 2pm (with thali lunch)
Treat yourself to a gentle, creative retreat with our two-part succulent wall art workshop, designed for relaxation and mindful enjoyment.
Session One: Botanical Observation & Creative Sketching
Begin your morning with a warm welcome and a refreshing, non-alcoholic drink. We’ll spend this first session quietly observing a selection of beautiful plants, taking time to notice their shapes, colours, and textures.
You’ll be invited to sketch your impressions using a variety of mixed media—think pencils, pastels, and even a splash of colour. The focus is on playful, childlike creativity, so there’s no need for any artistic experience.
Once you’re inspired, you’ll paint your own wooden box, which will become the home for your succulent display after lunch.Lunch Break: Thali Lunch
Pause and enjoy a delicious thali lunch, with time to chat and relax.
Session Two: Hands-on Planting & Horticultural Craft
After lunch, we’ll move into the hands-on part of the workshop. You’ll learn how to create a soft, supportive lining cushion for your box using horticultural materials.
We’ll guide you through a simple self-watering technique using a wick, making it easy for your plants to thrive.
Finally, you’ll plant your chosen succulents into the cushion, creating a unique, living wall display to take home.
Throughout the day, you’ll be supported in a calm, welcoming atmosphere—no experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to enjoy the process.
You’ll leave with your own soothing piece of living art, and new skills to bring more greenery into your home.
